OC

I finished the biography of Oswald Chambers, Abandoned to God today. It is by far the best biography I have read. I learned so much from his life, and from his wife's life. One thing that really struck me and has been on my mind is in the earlier chapters. The author continues to write about all these people that OC is affecting and teaching and whose lives are changing drastically. But then there is a diary entry from OC. It focuses on him being praised because of how people see him. However, on the inside he feels the Bible is the most uninteresting book he could read and that he isn't very close to God (I'm paraphrasing). But yet he still searched for God. He didn't give up. He knew ultimately where his heart belonged.

I think that as Christians we must understand that we can't always see or understand everything at a given moment. But if our hearts and minds are focused on The Lord, we are reminded that God uses everyone. Even in our dry moments when we feel far away, God uses us. And this must be fresh in our minds and we must not forget. The moment we forget the importance of focusing on God in every circumstance will be the moment we allow ourselves to enter that dry spell indefinitely.
